मैं हूँ आकाश झा. मेरी आयु मात्र १४ साल की है और मैं नवमी कक्षा में पढता हूँ.अपने माता-पिता के सोच को क्रियान्वित करने के लिए मैंने "एक खोज : भारत की - स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन १८५७-१९४७ के शहीदों के जीवित गुमनाम वंशजो की एक दास्ताँ, एक जीवंत फिल्म" के लिए "तन-मन से" फिल्म को शूट किया हूँ. देश की आजादी के पिछले ६५ सालों में शहीदों पर सैकड़ों फिल्म बने होंगे, परन्तु स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन के शहीदों और उनके वंशजो पर बना शायद स्वतंत्र भारत का यह पहला फिल्म होगा जो इस उम्र के एक बालक ने बनाया होगा. मैंने कोशिश कि है कि मेरे उम्र या मुझसे छोटे उम्र के बच्चे इस फिल्म को जरुर देखें ताकि उनमे राष्ट्र भावना कि नीव मजबूत हों सके, शहीदों और उनके वंशजों के प्रति मानवता कि भावना भी जागृत हों सके और आने वाले दिनों में वे भी अपने बच्चों को मातृभूमि के लिए शहीद हुए लोगों की गाथा को बता सकें.

यह "आन्दोलन:एक पुस्तक से" के अधीन बनाया गया है.

"आन्दोलन:एक पुस्तक से" एक मुहीम है. प्रत्येक वर्ष एक पुस्तक के माध्यम से स्वतंत्रता संग्राम (१८५७-१९४७) में अपने प्राणों की आहुति देने वाले शहीदों के जीवित गुमनाम वंशजों को ढूंढ़कर उन्हें एक नई जिन्दगी देने का अनवरत प्रयास है. अबतक तीन वंशजों - तात्या टोपे के प्रपौत्र, बहादुर शाह ज़फ़र की पौत्रबधू और उधम सिंह के पौत्र - को नया जीवन देने में सफल रहा है. यह फिल्म उसी श्रृंखला की एक कड़ी है.

यह फिल्म मूलरूप से शहीदों और उनके वंशजों के प्रति सरकार और विशेषकर स्वतंत्र भारत के आवाम की अनवरत उदासीनता और उपेक्षा की भावना को उजागर करने की एक कोशिश है, साथ ही, भारत के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति स्वर्गीय के. आर. नारायणन की बात को लोगों तक पहुँचाने का एक प्रयास भी. पूर्व राष्ट्रपति ने कहा था कि स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति के बाद शहीदों और उनके वंशजों को जो "यथोचित" सम्मान मिलना चाहिए था, वह नहीं मिल पाया. नारायणन स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन के सभी शहीदों के परिवारों को "राष्ट्रीय परिवार" का दर्जा दिलाना चाहते थे, साथ ही, उनकी यह भी इक्षा थी कि स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन के शहीदों और अंडमान जेल (कालापानी) की सजा भुगते क्रांतिकारियों के वंशजों को भी राज्य सभा में स्थान सम्मानित किया जाय. दुर्भाग्यवश, उनकी ये सभी इक्षाएं उनकी मृत्यु के साथ ही दफ़न हों गयी.

MEET AAKASH JHA, a class 9th student of Indirapuram's St. Thomas School. He will shoot the disgraceful life of as many as 25 descendants' families of forgotten heroes and martyrs of India's freedom movement for our 90 minute film "एक खोज:भारत का -१८५७-१९४७ स्वतंत्रता संग्राम:शहीद और उनके गुमनाम वंशज:एक दास्ताँ". The film, to be aired on January 24-25, 2012, a day before India's 62nd Republic Day to show the world now about 117 crore population of world largest democracy are enjoying the fruits of independence following the scarifies of their ancestors shamelessly.

Be it Bhagat Singh or Khudi Ram Bose or Chandra Shekhar Azad, Udham Singh, the sacrifices they made to free India from the clutches of the British imperial rule remain unmatched. These martyrs went to the gallows without even a wrinkle on their faces; such was their resolve and determination.

We have come a long way since India became independent on 15th August 1947. But it is ironical that the not only the present generation, but people of India from 63 crores in 1947 to 117 crore in 2011 have forgotten the heroes and martyrs and freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of the country. Even more ironical is the fact that not even five percent population of this huge nation actually remembers those who died during the freedom struggle.

No wonder then that the late President K R Narayanan lamented the apathy of our countrymen towards the unsung heroes of our freedom struggle during his visit to Cellular Jail by saying that “Nobody, especially the present generation, can imagine the hardship, the torture they have gone through and the ultimate sacrifices they made during such an arduous journey. If we can transmit to the new generation of Indians, at least a little bit of their patriotism, their flaming nationalism, their courage, their capacity for sacrifice, then we would have done something significant today”.

“It is important to realize that these revolutionary freedom fighters have not been given the honour and respect due to them, in keeping with their sacrifices. It is the government’s moral responsibility to see that their issues and outstanding tasks are taken up”.

How ironical it is that in every nook and corner of our cities, the statues and memorials of sundry politicians are erected, annual functions too are held with huge fanfare in their memory and remembrance but the people who died for the nation have been confined to the memory of their equally neglected heir!

How ironical it is that even artists and film stars, who have enacted the roles of these real-life heroes on the silver screen, should find their way into parliament through nominated seats while the heroes have been wiped out from the nation’s memory!

As President Narayanan said, “it should be our solemn duty to show that we are truly grateful for all that they did for us”.

कहते हैं माहौल का असर बच्चो के विकास पर गहरा पड़ता है जैसे लोहा भी चुम्बक के संसर्ग में रहकर चुम्बकत्व प्राप्त कर लेता है. इंदिरापुरम स्थित सत. थोमस स्कूल के नवमी कक्षा का छात्र आकाश झा का भी लगभग एही हाल है.

स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन के दौरान साढ़े-अट्ठारह-वर्षीय खुदीराम बोस मातृभूमि के लिए फांसी पर चढ़ गए, आज इंदिरापुरम, गाजिआबाद (उत्तर प्रदेश) का एक चौदह वर्षीया बालक १८५७-१९४७ के दौरान शहीदों/फांसी पर चढ़े सेनानियों के आज के जीवित और गुमनाम वंशजों को अपने कैमरे में कैद कर आप तक पहुँचाने का दायित्व स्वीकारा है.एक माता-पिता के लिए इससे बड़ा सौभाग्य और क्या हों सकता है.

आकाश झा, अपने माता-पिता द्वारा लिखित और पिछले १३ अप्रैल, २०११ को लोकार्पित पुस्तक Forgotten Indian Heroes and Martyrs:Their Neglected Descendants-1847-1947 पर आधारित "भारत की खोज: स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन (१८५७-१९४७) के शहीदों के गुमनाम वंशजों के दर्दनाक दास्ताँ" फिल्म के केमेरामेन हैं. नब्बे मिनट के इस फिल्म में आकाश अपने एसडीआर-पीडी१७७पी केमेरा से देश के सुदूर इलाकों में गुमनाम का जीवन जी रहे शहीदों के वंशजों से मिलकर उनकी आज की हालत भारत के ११७ करोड़ लोगों के सामने प्रस्तुत करेंगे.

नब्बे मिनट के इस फिल्म का प्रिमिएर आगामी गणतंत्र दिवस के पूर्व संध्या पर राष्ट्रीय राजधानी नई दिल्ली में होगा.

इस पुस्तक के माध्यम से आकाश के माता-पिता (नीना झा और शिवनाथ झा) ने जल्लिंवाला बाग नरसंघार के मुख्य अभियुक्त जेनरल डायेर को उनके ही जमीन लन्दन में मौत के घाट उतारने वाला उधम सिंह के एक वंशज जीत सिंह को एक नया जीवन प्रदान किया और साढ़े एग्यारह लाख रूपये प्रदान किये. पिछले १३ अप्रील को जलिंवाला बाग कांड का ९२ साल पूरा हुआ था. उधम सिंह को ३० जुलाई १९४० को फांसी दी गाई थी. जीत सिंह पंजाब के एक गाँव में १२० रुपये के देहारी पर काम करते थे.

वैसे आकाश को यह कला 'धरोहर' के रूप में मिला है लेकिन आज के परिपेक्ष में इस उम्र के बच्चो को इस कार्य में अभिरुचि हों, यह काबिले तारीफ है.

आकाश की माता श्रीमती नीना झा उसी संत थोमस स्कूल की एक पुरानी शिक्षिका है जबकि पिता श्री शिवनाथ झा एक वरिष्ट पत्रकार. यह दंपत्ति पिछले छः वर्षों से "आन्दोलन:एक पुस्तक से" नामक मुहीम चला रहे हैं जिसमे प्रत्येक वर्ष एक पुस्तक के माध्यम से १८५७-१९४७ आन्दोलन के बीच शहीद हुए सेनानियों के आज के जीवित वंशजों को नया जीवन देना है.

इस मुहीम की शुरुआत भारत रत्न शेहनाई उस्ताद बिस्मिल्लाह खान पर लिखी एक पुस्तक - मोनोग्राफ ऑन उस्ताद बिस्मिल्लाह खान - से हुई, जिसका विमोचन स्वयं उस्ताद ने ही किया था, साथ ही, इस दम्पति ने उस्ताद की अंतिम इक्षा "इंडिया गेट पर शहनाई' पूरी करने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ा था, लेकिन इश्वर को मंजूर नहीं था. उस्ताद का निधन २१ अगस्त २००६ को बनारस के हेरिटेज अस्पताल में हुआ था. अब तक इस दंपत्ति ने १८५७ के महान नायक तात्या टोपे, बहादुर शाह ज़फ़र और उधम सिंह के वंशजों को ढूंढ़ कर नया जीवन प्रदान किया है.

नेशनल जोग्राफी, कार्टून शो जैसे टीवी शो देखने वाला आकाश को विज्ञानं और गणित विषय बहुत पसंद है और वह येरोनोटिकल इंजिनियर बनना चाहता है.

सन २००६ में जब वह चौथा वर्ग में पढता था तब से माता-पिता के इस क्रिया कलाप में अभिरुचि लेने लगा. आकाश का कहना है: "इतिहास, चाहे अपने देश का हों या दुसरे देशों का, अगर पूछा जाय तो बिलकुल गणित जैसा विषय है. एक बार अगर समझ में आ गया तो उसमे अपने आप अभिरुचि होने लगती है, मेरे साथ भी ऐसा ही हुआ. मेरी माँ मेरे ही स्कूल में हैं, गणित और विज्ञानं पर उनकी उतनी ही पकड़ है इसलिए इन विषयों में मेरी बहुत अभिरुचि है. साथ ही पिता को जिस ऐतिहासिक चीज में रुझान है, वह भी मुझे आकर्षित किया."

आकाश कहते हैं की अपने माता-पिता के साथ पिछले छः वर्षों में किताब बनाने के दौरान इन सभी वंशजों से मिला, लेकिन जब पिता ने यह कहा की मैं इस फिल्म में फोटोग्राफी करूँ तो एक पाल के लिए स्तब्ध हों गया. लेकिन एक ही झटके में मैंने कहा, "मैं करूँगा". वैसे मैं इस कला में बहुत दक्ष नहीं हूँ, फिर भी यह कला मुझे धरोहर में मिली है और उसे निखारने का हर संभव प्रयास करूँगा. आकाश का कहना है की इस प्रयास से लोगों के मन में इन शहीदों और उनके वंशजों के प्रति सम्मान तो आएगा, विशेष कर हमारे उम्र और हम से कम उम्र के बच्चे इस दिशा में उन्मुख होंगे.

आकाश कहते हैं की २००६ में उन्होंने उस्ताद बिस्मिल्लाह खान से मिले, उनका आशीर्वाद लिया. फिर २००७ में तात्या टोपे के प्रपौत्र श्री विनायक राव टोपे के घर कानपूर गया जिन्हें उठाकर हमारे माता-पिता अपने घर इंदिरापुरम लाये थे और बाद में तत्कालीन रेल मंत्री श्री लालू प्रसाद जी के सहयोग से उन्हें नया जीवन प्रदान किया गया. लगभर एक वर्ष बाद कलकत्ता गए जहाँ भारत के अंतिम बादशाह बहादुर शाह ज़फ़र के वंशज सुल्ताना बेगम से मिला, उन्हें भी एक दुसरे पुस्तक जो भारत के सभी प्रधान मंत्रियों पर था, सलमान खुशिद साहेब और ममता बनर्जी के माध्यम से नया जीवन मिला.

आकाश कहते हैं "अभी हाल में बंगाल के एक गाँव में जब खुदीराम बोस के जन्म स्थान पर गया तो रोयें खड़े हों गए, उस जमीन को देख कर जहाँ खुदीराम बोस पैदा हुए थे. हमारे ही उम्र में उन्हें बिहार के मुजफ्फरपुर जेल में फांसी दे दिया गया. कितने बच्चे जानते हैं, हमारे उम्र के?

"मुझे ऐसे लोगों से मिलने, इतिहास के पन्नों पर जमे धुल को पोछने में मजा आता है. हमारे उम्र के कितने बच्चे जानते हैं इन गुमनाम शहीदों और उनके वंशजों को ?

अपने एक माह के प्रवास के दौरान आकाश, अपने माता-पिता के साथ पश्चिम बंगाल, ओरिसा, झारखण्ड, बिहार, उत्तर प्रदेश, दिल्ली, पंजाब, महाराष्ट्र के कई गाँव और शहरों में जायेंगे जहाँ उन सभी शहीदों के वंशजों से बात कर उनकी हालत को अपने कैमरे में कैद कर भारत के ११७ करोड़ आवाम के सामने पड़ोसेंगे.

आकाश कहते हैं, "हमारे उम्र के सभी बच्चो को थोडा संवेदनशील तो होना ही पड़ेगा, अपने लिए, अपने भविष्य के लिए, माता-पिता के लिए, समाज के लिए और राष्ट्र के लिए. नहीं तो सभी बातें किताब के पन्नों तक ही सिमित रह जाएगी. सिर्फ परीक्षा में अच्छे अंको से उत्तीर्ण होने से कोई इन्शान तो नहीं बन सकता. अच्छे अंक प्राप्त करना उतना ही जरुरी है जितना हमें अपने माता-पिता के भावना को समझना. मुझे फक्र है अपने माता-पिता पर जिन्होंने मुझे सोचने की, कुछ करने की आजादी दी है."

मेरे जीवन का पहला सम्मान: आज कुरुक्षेत्र से करीब ४० किलोमीटर दूर कम्बोज समुदाई लोगो ने मुझे शहीद-इ-आज़म उधम सिंह के शाहदत दिवस पर विशेष रूप से आमंत्रित किया. उधम सिंह इसी समुदाई के थे. इस अवसर पर उपस्थित लोगों में बुजुर्गों की संक्या अधिक थी. उधम सिंह के नाम से एक भब्य धर्मशाला का निर्माण हुआ है. राज्य सभा के सांसद डॉ. राम प्रकाश जी का विशेष अनुरोध था. जीत सिंह, उधम सिंह के वंशज को भी में ले गया था. आज इस समुदाई के लोगों ने मुझे, मेरी पत्नी और पुत्र को अन्तह मन से आशीर्वाद दिया क्योंकि हम तीनो ने उधम सिंह के वंशज को ढूंढ़ कर और पाने पुस्तक के माध्यम से एक नई जिन्दगी पिछले १३ अप्रैल को दी थी. लोगों की तायदाद हजारों में थी. हमारे आन्दोलन:एक पुस्तक से को बहुत आगे तक ले जाने के लिए सबो ने अपनी प्रतिबध्हता दिखाई और कहा "कम्बोज समुदाई इस प्रयास में आपके साथ है, पैसे की कमी नहीं होगी इस आन्दोलन को."

उधम सिंह के पौत्र श्री जीत सिंह को एक लाख रूपये की फिर सहायता

इनसे मिलिए. ये हैं प्रोफ़ेसर राम प्रकाश जी. भारतीय संसद के उपरी सदन (राज्य सभा) के माननीय सदस्य. आज इन्होने मुझे अपने घर बुलाया और "आन्दोलन:एक पुस्तक से" की गहराई तक की जानकारी ली. दो घंटे के बातचीत के दौरान कई बार इन्होने अश्रुपूरित आँखों से शहीदों को नमन किया. यह शहीद-इ-आज़म उधम सिंह के नाम पर राजस्थान में एक धर्मशाला बना रहे हैं और साथ ही अपने निजी कोष से उधम सिंह के पोते जीत सिंह जी को एक लाख रुपये सहायता राशि प्रदान करेंगे. जीत सिंह जी को हमने जल्लिंवाला बाग कांड के ९२ साल और उधम सिंह के शहीद होने के ७२ साल बाद १३ अप्रैल २१०० को अपने प्रयास (Forgotten Indian Heroes and Martyrs:Their Neglected Descendants-1857-1947) से एक नई जिन्दगी देने की कोशिश की और ११.५० लाख एकत्रित रुपये लोकमत समाचारपत्र के मालिक श्री विजय जनार्दन दरदा जी के हाथों समर्पित किया. श्री राम प्रकाश जी ३० जुलाई (इसी तारीख को उधम सिंह को फांसी लगी थी) को यह नेक कार्य संपन्न करेंगे.

1857 में हुए भारत के प्रथम स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के महानायक तात्यां टोपे और जलियांवाला बाग कांड का बदला लेने वाले शहीद-ए-आज़म उधम सिंह का नाम तो आज भी देश भर में बच्चे-बच्चे की जुबान पर है, लेकिन आजादी के लिए अपने तन-मन-धन का बलिदान कर देने वाले इन शहीदों के वंशज़ आज किस बदहाली में अपना जीवन गुजार रहे हैं, यह किसी ने सोचा तक नहीं है। करीब एक सदी तक चले स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के ऐसे अनेकों क्रान्तिकारी थे जिनके परिवारवालों और वंशजों को किसी ने याद नहीं रखा। इन भूले-बिसरे परिजनों और वंशजों की बदहाली को मशहूर पत्रकार शिवनाथ झा एक फीचर फिल्म के माध्यम से बयां करने की तैयारी में हैं।

झा के मुताबिक “डिस्ग्रेसफुल” (अपमानजनक) नाम की इस फिल्म के माध्यम से भारत को आजादी दिलाने वाले ऐसे शहीदों, महापुरुषों और क्रान्तिकारियों के 30 वंशजों से बातचीत के आधार पर उन परिवारों की मौजूदा दुर्दशा को झलकाने का प्रयास किया जाएगा जिनके पुरखो ने 1857 से 1947 तक चले स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में अपना जीवन न्यौछावर कर दिया। शिवनाथ झा ने मीडिया दरबार को बताया कि उन्होंने इस फिल्म की योजना 2009 में ही बना ली थी, लेकिन इसे अंजाम तक लाने में दो साल लग गए। इस से पहले वे अपनी पत्नी नीना झा के साथ मिलकर “आन्दोलन: एक पुस्तक से” नामक अभियान भी शुरू कर चुके हैं। झा के मुताबिक यह फिल्म भी उसी अभियान का एक हिस्सा है।

झा ने बताया की यह फिल्म उन 30 परिवारों के सदस्यों से बातचीत पर आधारित होगी जो स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की मौजूदा पीढ़ियों का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहे हैं और गुमनामी में बदहाल जीवन बिता रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि दिवंगत पूर्व राष्ट्रपति के आर नारायणन ने एक बार कहा था कि भुला दिए गए राष्ट्रनायकों के परिवारों को “राष्ट्रीय परिवार” का दर्जा दिया जाना चाहिए। फिल्म में उनकी इस भावना को भी आगे रखने का प्रयास किया जाएगा।.

झा दम्पति ने देश में संगीतकारों और कलाकारों के लिए तथा बुरे हाल में रह रहे शहीदों के वंशजों के पुनर्वास के मकसद से अपना आन्दोलन शुरू किया था जिसमे प्रयेक वर्ष एक किताब के माध्यम से ऐसे लोगों को पुनर्वासित करने का संकल्प रखा गया है। दोनों ने हाल ही में एक पुस्तक फॉर्गौटेन इंडियन हीरोज़ एंड मार्टियर्स: देयर नेग्लेक्टेड डिसेंडेंट्स – 1857-1947 का विमोचन किया और इस मौके पर शहीद-ए-आज़म उधम सिंह के पौत्र जीत सिंह को 11लाख 50 हजार रुपये की सहायता भी लोकमत समाचार पत्र समूह के मालिक विजय जे डरडा के हाथों प्रदान करवाया।

57 साल के जीत सिंह का ज़िक्र करते हुए झा ने बताया कि जलियांवाला बाग कांड के दोषी अंग्रेज अधिकारी जनरल डायर से बदला लेने वाले शहीद उधम सिंह के इस वंशज को भुला दिया गया है और कितनी बड़ी विडम्बना है कि उनके पौत्र का परिवार मज़दूरी के दम पर चलता था।

झा ने स्वतंत्रता सेनानी तात्यां टोपे की चौथी पीढ़ी के वंशज विनायक राव टोपे का पता 2007 में लगाया था जो कि कानपुर के पास बिठूर में बदहाली में रह रहे थे। झा ने विनायक राव के पुनर्वास की दिशा में काम किया और उन्हें 5 लाख रूपए की आर्थिक मदद दिलाने के अलावे उनकी दो बेटियों को भारतीय रेल में नौकरी दिलवाने में भी सफल रहे। इसके अलावा झा दम्पत्ति ने भारत के अंतिम मुग़ल बादशाह और 1857 के विद्रोहियों के कमांडर-इन-चीफ बहादुर शाह ज़फ़र की पौत्रवधू सुल्ताना बेगम के पुनर्वास के लिए भी काम किया था।

Youth is the trustee of posterity. The investment, both moral and material, that a country makes in the skill development of the young human resources can, therefore, be a great indicator of the future of the nation. It is the avenues provided by the state-- of creativity, innovation and enterprise-- that enable the youth to realize its fullest potential.

No country in the world today embraces the extraordinary mixture of ethnic groups, the multiplicity of languages, the varieties of topography and climate,and the fascinating richness of food, dress, culture and religion as does India.

An ageless civilization, India has been the birth place of at least four religions, a dozen different traditions of classical dance, more than 85 political parties and 300 ways of cooking potato!

In the last 15 years, India has transformed itself from a lumbering elephant to a leaping tiger in the field of Information Technology, an area in which it is fast emerging as the Asian superpower.

But the the history of India as an Independent Nation is also known by the sacrifices made by its youth. India remained under foreign rule for almost 300 years. It emerged on the world scene as an independent State after an arduous and prolonged struggle. Supreme sacrifices were made by the youth of India to secure this freedom.

Be it Bhagat Singh or Khudi Ram Bose or Chandra Shekhar Azad, the sacrifices they made to free India from the clutches of the British imperial rule remain unmatched. These martyrs went to the gallows without even a wrinkle on their faces, such was their resolve and determination.

We have come a long way since India became independent on 15th August 1947. But it is ironical that the present generation of India does not even know how many young people and freedom fighters laid down their lives for the sake of the country. Even more ironical is the fact that not even five percent population of this huge nation actually remembers those who died during the freedom struggle.

No wonder then that the late President K R Narayanan lamented the apathy of our countrymen towards the unsung heroes of our freedom struggle during his visit to Cellular Jail by saying that “Nobody, especially the present generation, can imagine the hardship, the torture they have gone through and the ultimate sacrifices they made during such an arduous journey. If we can transmit to the new generation of Indians, at least a little bit of their patriotism, their flaming nationalism, their courage, their capacity for sacrifice, then we would have done something significant today”.

He was also appalled to see that the decrepit state of the Jail that should actually have been a national memorial worthy of a pilgrimage.

“It is important to realize that these revolutionary freedom fighters have not been given the honour and respect due to them, in keeping with their sacrifices. It is the government’s moral responsibility to see that their issues and outstanding tasks are taken up”.

आजादी के नायकों के वंशजों की दुर्दशा बयां करेगी फिल्म

नई दिल्ली, ५ मई (भाषा) : देश के प्रथम स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के नायक तात्या टोपे की चौथी पीढ़ी के वंशज हों या जल्लिंवाला बाघ कांड का बदला लेने वाले शहीद-इ-आज़म उधम सिंह के पौत्र हों, स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के ऐसे अनेक क्रन्तिकरिओन के परिजनों और वंशजों के हाल को एक लागु फिल्म के माध्यम से बयां किया जायेगा.

फ़िल्मकार के अनुसार भारत की आजादी दिलाने वाले ऐसे शहीदों, महापुरुषों और क्रन्तिकरिओन के ३० वंशजों से बातचित के आधार पर उन परिपरों की मौजूदा दुर्दशा को झलकने का प्रयास किया जायेगा, जिनकी पुरानी पीढ़ियों ने १८५७ से लेकर १९४७ तक के काल में देश को गुलामी के चंगुइल से मुक्ति कराने के लिए जान लड़ा दी थी लेकिन आज उन्हें भुला दिया गया है.

फिल्म को मूर्त रूप देने में लगे पत्रकार शिवनाथ झा ने इस से पहले अपनी पत्नी नीना झा के साथ मिलकर "आन्दोलन:एक पुस्तक से" नामक अभियान भी शुरू किया है. यह फिल्म भी उसका ही एक हिस्सा है. फिल्म को इस साल अगस्त में स्वतंत्रता दिवस से पहले प्रदर्शित करने की योजना है.
